With this match up, you're probably thinking, "This can't possibly be good."
You're exactly right. I thought it was going to be a straight forward version of "Young Americans" . . . until it takes a turn for the worst at around 1:17, kicking into high gear 70s Vegas-style camp.
Witness the horror of 'Blue Moon' at 2:49, the dance moves at 4:13, and Cher's cackle at 5:15. And oh sweet lord, Cher's Darth Vader-inspired hair helmet. This is a time capsule that exemplifies the musical/fashion trainwreck that was the '70s.
I dedicate this to all those 13 year olds walking around in their brand new Target-bought Led Zep and Stones T-shirts, clutching their Dazed and Confused DVDs, and convinced by Ashton Kutcher that the 70's were cool. They weren't. And I know because I had to live through it. GROOVY!
